Janice Marie (Browning) Dearth, age 83, of Brownsville, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Peroni's Personal Care Home in Uniontown. She was born on January 11, 1941, daughter of the late Ralph Browning and Irene (Barclay) Browning. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her brothers, Edward Browning and Chris Browning, and a sister Pat Browning.
Janice is survived by her husband of 63 years, William J. Dearth; her brothers, Jim Browning and wife Fern and Paul Browning and wife Kathleen. Janice was the devoted mother of Kathy Bakewell and husband Raymond, Bill Dearth and wife Susan, and Bob Dearth and wife Eddray. She loved her six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Janice was a member of Bible Baptist Church, where she volunteered with the cleaning of the church. She also was employed for many years at the Brownsville Fisher Big Wheel and prior to that was secretary at Hillman Barge, where she met her husband. She was a true homemaker, and loved to keep the house clean and spend her time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at The Skirpan Funeral Home, 135 Park Street, Brownsville PA 15417, Friday, March 1, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Saturday from 10 AM until the Funeral Service at 11 AM, with Pastor Tom Dallas officiating. Interment in LaFayette Memorial Park.
