George Brenzy Jr.
George Francis Brenzy Jr., age 78 of Fairbank, PA passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at his home. George was born on March 5, 1939 to George and Anna (Haberer) Brenzy in Continental 2, PA, and was the oldest of 4 children. He attended German Township High School and was a member of the U.S. Navy.
In 1963 George began a long career in the automotive industry. He held jobs as an Estimator/Auto Body Manager for several dealerships in Masontown and Uniontown Areas, retiring from National Ford in 2001. George was an active member of the church of Madonna of Czestochowa in Cardale, PA and later a member of St. Francis of Assisi R.C. Parish of Footedale.
George loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a proud Pittsburgh Steeler fan and actively involved in drag racing events, car shows and restorations, fishing, puzzle building and woodworking.
George was preceded in death by his parents George Francis Brenzy, Sr. in 1991 and Anna (Haberer) Brenzy, in 1998; loving wife of 50 years, Bonnie J. (Machinia ) Brenzy, in 2014 and Grandson, George R. Brenzy, IV in 2009.
George is survived by three children; daughter, Teri L. Brenzy and partner M.K., son, George F. Brenzy, lll and wife Doreen Brenzy and daughter, Kelli Torrey. George had 2 grandchildren; granddaughter, Nicole Torrey and fiancé Rob Roadway, and grandson Mark Torrey, Jr. Most recently, he was so proud to become a great-grandfather of twin great-grandsons Eli and Levi Roadway. He will be sorely missed by his ever-present Border terrier companion Bree.
George had 3 brothers, Fred Brenzy and wife Marylou, Melvin Brenzy and wife Carol, Robert (Bob) Brenzy and wife Carol. He had numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Skirpan Funeral Home, 680 Cherry Tree Lane, Uniontown, PA on Sunday, January 14 from 2 - 8 PM. A blessing service will be held on Monday, January 15 at 9:15AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Francis of Assisi R.C. Parish of Footedale with the Rev. Fr. William G. Berkey as celebrant. Interment will take place at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Republic, PA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Hospital or Make a Wish foundation.
